Heather oversees market conduct examinations and special projects and has robust experience reviewing all lines of insurer compliance with applicable laws and regulations. In previous positions, she led led and conducted a wide range of single-state and multi-state market regulation and regulatory examinations. Her work spans across various lines of insurance with a strong emphasis on Mental Health Parity (MHP) and Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) examinations. She has also worked on hurricane disaster market conduct, actuarial and property and casualty financial examinations, ACA health insurance compliance reviews, and specialized health product lines, including PBM exams for fully commercial non-ERISA and ERISA plans.
Heather has significant knowledge and familiarity in the key functional activity areas of claims, premiums, legal/compliance, new business, underwriting, complaints, appeals/grievances and the specific business lines of pharmaceutical-related reviews, commercial, life, and annuity (fixed and variable), as well as the following types of insurance companies: private, publicly traded, and mutual legal reserve.
